FAMILY DAY!!!

Right after they handed Carissa to us for the first time.

A few minutes later when she had stopped crying.

One Year Later!!

Two Years Later!!
Today marks the second anniverary of Carissa's Forever Family Day.  Two years ago we met our precious daughter for the first time in the Hunan Adoption Affairs office in Changsha, Hunan, China.  It still amazes me often of what a perfect fit she is for our family.  She has grown sooooo much in these past two years.  She was once a scared, chunky little baby and now she has blossomed into a beautiful and silly little girl.  I am forever grateful for the life her birthparents gave her, for the Yueyang City SWI that took such good care of her that first year of life, and that God chose her to place in our home.  We are celebrating tomorrow evening with dinner out at a local Chinese buffet.

You commented on my "Surgery" post. My Outlook program doesn't work, so I couldn't email you back, but yes, West Michigan. :)

Hi Pam,

I saw your comment on my blog regarding mia and her gotcha anniversary! Thanks for the comment. Mia is from Yueyang County Hunan. She was in foster care there. Yueyang County is about 2 hours north of Changsha and is close to the northern boarder of hunan. We got Mia when she was only 6 months old so she did not live that much of her life in China but we cherish the time she did.
